No doubt you have spoken with the professor by now. Understand this is not nearly as personal as you appear to think.

Mr. Samson.
No doubt you have heard of the recent arrival of my sister, Valentia de la Rocha. I would like to make an appointment, assessing her mental stability as she occasionally has disturbing nightmares at night.
Please be aware that she is also an empath with an emotional link to me, however, the Professor has set up a barrier within her mind, therefore she will not project or absorb whatever you are feeling at the time.
She is a mute and I am curious to find out if this is a psychological state of mind. As Jean has much to do and you regularly deal with children, I was informed by the professor to speak with you directly.

I understand you are in a position that does not allow you to feel comfortable coming back to the mansion, however I believe (and it is shocking that I am saying this at all) that you would find some stability at the mansion than driving in circles across the country, if that is what you are currently doing. Stability is what you require right now, rather than some false fabricated form you have created to salvage your sanity.

I'm not driving in circles going nowhere. I'm in a little motel in the middle of nowhere. Since when was the emotions in the school STABLE? Or are you off your rocker again too?

I did not say the emotions were 'stable'. If you are in the middle of no where, that brings some perspective, however, not much, considering it is easy to stay there and run from your problems rather than deal with them. Oh look at me. Wouldn't they be so proud, molding me into their little recruiting puppet?

I expect you will not be driving with the top down, a shotgun in your hand, running down young men on your way back? Though by all means, should you feel the need to shoot something, I can give you a few names.

Too cold and I got a pickup. Those convertible pickups by Ford are terrible, I got a REAL truck, not some sissy one.
Wouldn't mind a shotgun though. I already got some Loretta Lynn.

It can't have been that bad. Besides, do you really think me talking to you about your father would have been a good idea, even with you shielding now? Some memories are still pretty strong.

Yes, I do. You would have been fine. Angelo is simply not as entertaining. He lacks the luster you do.

You might have changed your mind after I threw up on your shoes with the retelling. Which reminds me, need to talk to Sof about that particular trauma reaction. :P

That's a possibility. Ask Adrienne. I am sure she will tell you all about my reactions to throwing up.
I am sorry you had to relive some of that.

You've made it quite clear to me that you don't give a damn about me personally. I don't really care whether what you're doing was done as a direct attack on me, or whether you just think I'm completely incapable of controlling myself. It amounts to the same outcome.
We are the change we want to see in the world. Just remember that.

What is it you seek Laurie? You are leaving in three days and the opinion of a little girl should matter little or nothing to you. You take this to a personal level of intimacy that should not have ever been.

The fact that you continue to fail in comprehension is astounding. It's not her opinion that bothers me. But you're right, I am leaving. Good luck with finding redemption Manuel, your continued judgement of those around you should see you well on the way to that.

I have indeed heard about your sister--in fact, after speaking with Professor Xavier I took the liberty of bringing some play therapy tools and setting aside a room for them. They may be particularly useful for establishing communication if she is non-verbal.
I had a cancellation this week, and could come in Friday morning, if that would work for you?

Friday morning will work well. I can pull her from her schooling for that meeting, however, I ask that any other meetings be postponed to later in the afternoon.
