Is anything the matter? I hope "personal issue" translates to "I am interviewing new waiters for my cafe" rather than "I am moving myself into a potentially dangerous situation without backup."

In the future I will have to remember that some people around the place are familiar with the northern dialect of 'proud bastard'.
I was asked up to deal with a hostage situation instigated by the man who killed Raymonde. The hostages are safe, but I killed him in the process. What is left now is for the police to determine if my hand was forced, or if I only acted on the easiest option. As they do not want me so far away while they do that, I am stuck here for the time being.

Nine times out of ten, when people here say that they will be held up because of "personal business," violence or political complications are involved. It is not a "proud bastard" so much as a "mutant" dialect.
Was your hand forced?

I have been trying to answer variations of that question for the past two days. The answer to the cops is "Absolutely". The rest is not so certain. St. Ives wanted me to kill him, that was the entire reason behind setting this up. The last thing I wanted to do was give him a way out, but it is hard to be certain of motivations when some fat batard is taunting you with the worst of your past failures.
