I am attempting to decide on the best way to avoid this idiotic Americanized holiday, and the accompanying (however lighthearted) anti-French sentiment regarding Mexican independence. Do you have any ideas?

I had planned on boarding myself in my room and stabbing dangling participles to death, but I could be convinced to either go out or cook for friends tonight.

Give me a few minutes to change clothes. One of the terms of my cousin's and my tenuous truce is that for every four weeks I am "not a bitch" to her, she gives me the address of a good French restaurant.
