Formally requesting leave from the team for approximately four or five days from the twenty-first onward... no, I haven't had enough sleep to be formal.

Given that Jean seems to be handling things fine, would it be possible for me and Madelyn to take a few days off? Or perhaps just me, she hasn't let me know yet if she wants to come. It's my parents' anniversary on Saturday, and if I can be spared, I'd like to visit. I haven't seen them since before New Years, and they really want to meet Billy and my new lady friend. If they want to go, I'd like to take Kyle, Dani, and Forge, too. My folks want to meet them as well. (I forgot all about the anniversary until my computer reminded me, or I would have asked sooner.)

I've asked for leave from the team to go visit my parents this weekend. Would any of you like to come along? There'll be fresh air, plenty of good farm food, and tractor rides for all. :) And forcible honorary grandparenting, probably - my parents consider anyone I bring home to be fair game for fussing.

This weekend. It's going to be their anniversary, and it seemed like a good time. :) They'll be thrilled to have us.

And I've told them a great deal about you. I talked a lot about you before we got involved - how much I enjoyed working with you, how intelligent you are, and so forth - and afterwards rhapsodizing about your beauty and charm was also included. They're all set to love you, I promise.

I promise you, my love... they're my parents. They *know* me. *g* They know from the gushing how much I care about you, but they won't take it *entirely* literally. They are, however, very glad that I'm happy, and eager to meet you. And they will love you, I promise, although they certainly won't expect you to be perfect.

Billy, on the other hand, him they'll credit perfection to. ;) As grandparents do.

There's no stopping her, I'm afraid. Mostly she donates to shelters and so on, since nobody in the world could wear that many woolly socks, not even with feet as big as mine. But she's made two little blankets for Billy already, she tells me, and some things for you and Maddie. And I'm getting more socks, since it's hard for me to buy them. :) Don't worry, it's probably nothing too big.

What Alison said... and even leaving aside the fact that I'm surprised your parents have let you get away with not bringing the new addition for a visit for this long, it really is long past time that they met Maddie.

Although this is reminding me - have some ideas to bounce off you when you get back regarding more extensive first-aid training for the team...

First aid training is a *good* thing... the more the better. I'll think about it while I'm gone, and try to work up some plans....

As for my parents, I'm surprised they haven't showed up and dragged me away themselves by now... of course, summer isn't a quiet time on a farm the way it is here. But my mother's calls have been getting increasingly insistent, and I do want her to meet them both.

I think Maddie is nervous about it, though. She knows I've been gushing, and now she's worried that they'll expect a paragon.
