Paige,

When you return I would like to see you in my office. (For the record, no, I am not doing anything drastic like removing you from working with me. Not only would that simply not work, I dislike the idea of punishing myself by removing my assistant.) I think it's obvious what I wish to discuss, but there's also a few other things as well.

When I return I am planning on discussing with Xavier if it's ethics or councelling I need. I will let you know to make sure our conclusions are satisfactory for you both.

I know I've messed up, ma'am. I'm... fully aware of that. It's going to take some chats with some professionals to figure out where exactly I did, other than the obvious hurting people, but I know. Don't think that I don't.

If you're sure... yes. I can make it.

The fact that you realize this is a good sign, love. I was worried, I won't lie, and it makes me rest easier knowing that you'll be talking to Charles.

Sometimes we hide things so deep from ourselves that it really will only take outside help to find those reasons. Your on a hard road right now but you'll pull out alright, I've got faith in you.

Good, then Dr. Connors can leave me alone every time I call about when I'm bringing you over. I'll have to be careful he doesn't try to steal you away.

When I asked you to become my assistant, I meant it. While there are volunteers at Muir (due to programs or what not), I heavily believe in paying those that work for me. You've got the access to the labs at Muir and the facilities like any other staffer. Part time, of course, since you do do other things.

So, yes, paycheck.

Well, I've got some good ideas... but Charles has really good tea also. I think confirming some of my suspicions and perhaps getting a few new ideas never hurt anyone.

Oh, don't worry. I have more than enough reasons recently to stay right here. I'm all yours.

Would it be possible for you to just directly route my paychecks to my family in Kentucky? I'll pay for the stamps and all, or whatever it takes.
